He holds a master?s degree in journalism from the Ateneo de Manila University and teaches at the Ateneo?s Depertment of Communication. He was a fellow of the University of the Philippines, Silliman and Iligan National Writers Workshops. His poetry has received the Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature and the Philippines Free Press Literary Award.
