1980. Her stories have won Palanca Awards and appeared in
journals and anthologies in the Philippines, Singapore, and the
United States. She studied Psychology at the University of
the Philippines and worked briefly in the corporate world
and in media. In 2004, she joined the Foreign Service, which
has taken her to postings in New Delhi, Singapore, and now,
Berlin. She has helped her husband, a Korean scholar, translate
Korean literary works into English, but considers their son,
Samuel, their best project yet. When world affairs and her
writing schedule permit, Cathy enjoys watching the waves
and playing the ukulele. Her YA novel Sula?s Voyage was
released by Scholastic Asia in 2016."
