A collection of ninety-seven stories narrated in the form of flash fiction. Hovering between a mere two hundred and six hundred words (with a handful of stories having a bit more), these stories seek to distill the various moods and complexities of life and, this constraint of words notwithstanding, still leave readers with an awareness and recognition of the essence of these experiences. The sixteen authors come from diverse backgrounds?there are homemakers among us as well as professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, an editor, an artist, an architect, a lawyer?but [they] are bound together by an abiding love for literature and writing. Mentored by Prof. Cristina ?Jing? Pantoja-Hidalgo, director of UST Center for Creative Writing and Literary Studies, most of [them] have been members of her writing class for many years. As a group and individually, [they] have published books both fiction and non-fiction. [Their] fiction and essays have also appeared in magazines and anthologies, some of which have received nominations for, and have won National Book Awards.
